To proceed, Long View Systems requires your consent for read-only access to telemetry and entitlement data. This allows us to understand how licenses are being used across your organization—without accessing any content or personal files. By analyzing usage patterns and license assignments, we can identify opportunities to reduce costs, optimize resources, and ensure every license is serving a purpose.

Your consent helps us deliver clarity without compromise.

What permissions does CLEAR use, and what data is accessed?

CLEAR uses an Azure AD App Registration to read Microsoft 365 usage and directory telemetry through Microsoft Graph. The permissions granted allow access to:

  • Usage and activity reports for workloads such as Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Copilot

  • License assignment information

  • Basic directory attributes needed for reporting (e.g., UPN, department, location)

Long View does not access or process email content, files, chat messages, meeting recordings, or any customer documents.

What is this data used for?

The data is used solely to deliver Long View's SYNC Up services:

  • CLEAR Vision provides ongoing Microsoft 365 usage, adoption, and optimization analytics via a Power BI dashboard

  • CLEAR Path produces detailed optimization reporting with recommended action items and spend analysis

Please contact your Long View Licensing Specialist or Account Manager if you are unsure which of these is applicable to you.

Data is never used for marketing, resale, or any purpose unrelated to Microsoft 365 licensing optimization

How is my information kept secure?

All data processed by CLEAR is stored only within Long View’s Microsoft 365 tenant, using Power BI, OneDrive, and SharePoint. Security is enforced through:

  • Microsoft 365 encryption at rest and in transit

  • Azure AD access controls and role‑based permissions

  • Dedicated, isolated workspaces for each customer

  • No third‑party storage or external databases

  • No stored credentials—CLEAR uses Azure AD OAuth and service principals

If the access is revoked by disabling or deleting the App Registration, CLEAR immediately loses the ability to retrieve or refresh data. Historical reports and datasets are retained for the duration of the managed services relationship in order to provide the best service possible, but will be deleted upon request.
